APRIL International: Company history


Since its creation in 1975, APRIL International has consistently developed innovative solutions to meet the needs of expatriates.


APRIL International’s key dates

 

  • 1975: creation of AIPS (Association Internationale de Prévoyance Sociale) by Benoît Loevenbruck. At that time, the company specialised in insuring individuals abroad.
  • 1996: creation of a repricing business in the US.
  • 1999: AIPS becomes APRIL Mobilité following its takeover by the APRIL GROUP and extends its activities to group insurance.
  • 2002: launch of Garanties Mobilité Entreprise, a group insurance solution for expatriate, seconded or impatriate employees.
  • 2004: APRIL Mobilité is awarded the Tribulis Prize for Product Innovation for the Ambassade policy designed for expatriates and incorporating benefits at the cutting edge of healthcare (alternative medicine, well woman and obstetrics and preventative care).
  • 2005: launch of APRIL Mission, comprehensive insurance cover for employees on assignment abroad in the form of an annual subscription for assignments of up to 90 or 180 days in any country.
  • 2006: creation of the extranet www.intramobilite.com aimed at insurance professionals and enabling them to process their applications online and issue insurance certificates within minutes.
    Representative office opened in Mexico City.
  • 2007: launch of a new version of the website, www.aprilmobilite.com, containing wide-ranging information on expatriation, insurance cover abroad and offering an online application facility for all personal insurance products. 
  • 2008: launch of the Visit’Assur policy for foreign nationals staying in France for up to 3 months and the Euro Cover + policy for Europatriates.
  • 2011: APRIL Mobilité becomes APRIL International.
